June 20: Dementia-Friendly Urban Farming

Daphne at Rainier Beach Urban Farm Do you enjoy being outside, gardening, and helping your community? Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands invites those who live with memory loss to join its regular Friday volunteer program! Come on your own, or invite family members or friends. Enjoy a morning of volunteering in the fresh air, followed by a free and delicious lunch prepared on-site with farm produce! All tools provided. Group facilitators support volunteers in finding tasks that are a great fit. Active or seated options are available.

This is a program designed in partnership with Elderwise, Southeast Seattle Senior Center, Seattle Parks and Recreation, and people living with memory loss and care partners in Southeast Seattle.
